Mentee Insight is pleased to announce that Katsiaryna Zinavenka, Esq., Founder of Mentee Insight, has published an article in the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Journal, a highly respected legal publication serving attorneys across New York State.
Her article, "The End of the Billable Hour? How AI Can Transform Models of Time and Efficiency in Law," appears in the Technology Issue of the Fall 2026 edition of the NYSBA Journal.
The article examines how AI is transforming traditional models of time and efficiency in legal practice and argues for a shift from traditional time-based performance to capability-based performance, in which competitive advantage increasingly depends on the quality of collective legal and strategic judgment across the legal workforce. It presents work-life harmony as a judgment-centered performance capability and proposes a concrete approach to strengthening the quality of judgment in AI-accelerated legal environments.
The article further highlights the importance of preparing lawyers for an AI-enabled legal culture by developing AI-complementary strategic human capabilities across the legal workforce at every level, including work-life harmony, AI-era decision-making intelligence, strategic leadership, and workplace navigation.
