Our Strategy Experts

Scott Boorman, Harvard Ph.D., Professor of Sociology and Member, New York Bar, has decades of experience coaching confident leaders. Applying strategic thinking to practical decision-making, he has a long track record of early warning - years in advance - about ways in which AI and related computing developments can adversely impact businesses, often via logistics. He identifies ways in which military lessons, forged in the crucible of bitter, large-scale combat operations, can be transposed to suggest and guide strategy in civilian conflicts. He applies blockmodeling to track cliques and patterns of polarization in networks and analyzes strategic and policy implications of the "blowups" in complex social structures to which such polarization can lead. His expertise ranges from the garbage can model of organizational failures and alternatives to rational choice to island cascade analyses of innovation facing blockage, the "network matching" model, search models, organizational inefficiency models, and asymmetric information problems. His book Three Faces of Sun Tzu (Cambridge University Press, 2024) analyzes application of Sun Tzu's Art of War to information strategy areas where ancient Chinese wisdom can find practical applications in the era of AI, social media, and algorithm sabotage.

Katsiaryna Zinavenka, Member, New York Bar and Founder of Mentee Insight, got her start in business applications of sequential strategy as part of a leadership team that turned around a firm - an incubator for hi-tech startups - that was burdened with organizational failures and positioned it on a path to successful growth. A chess player from an early age, she cultivated a talent for strategic thinking that led her to be a winner of chess championships before she entered law school in Belarus. Subsequently, she has applied her command of goal-driven sequential strategy and a healthy strategic mindset to manage a challenging multi-step professional transition from her law-and-business role in Europe to New York attorney and entrepreneur. Her immersion in tax law, where complex algorithms are ubiquitous, has given her an enduring interest in, and curiosity about, dissecting the many effects that the AI revolution is having on both business and the law, including legal issues unique to the AI space. Complementing her tax lawyer's skills in structuring complex information, breaking it down into simple parts to see a big picture, ever since law school she has had a keen interest in psychology and how it can be applied to enhance well-being. Her current goal is to teach how sequential strategy and the skills to think strategically can be applied to boost the well-being of professionals, building a healthy professional environment that is resilient to AI challenges and is simultaneously productive and enjoyable.
